About Tom Hall Photography
Thank you very much for visiting my website. I love what I do, feel honoured every day to be able to have such a great job and thoroughly enjoy the fact that so many people support me and have followed my journey for so long! I feel truly blessed!
When I was 17 my mum bought me a camera and my interest in photography began. I was intrigued by the fact that a black box and some glass at the front could capture a moment and end up on a piece of paper. It fascinated me! What became even more of a fascination to me is how the love for a photograph never stops growing and becomes more and more personally valuable as the years pass.
At the same time I was also building a real passion for music and eventually it took my more and more of my attention away from photography.
For years I focussed on being a singer (no pun intended), but eventually the old dream of being a successful photographer resurfaced.
I built a studio, registered Tom Hall Photography, and photographed many portrait and beauty sessions. As soon as I felt ready I eventually took on the responsibility of photographing weddings. From there I haven’t looked back!
Over the last 9 years of photographing weddings I’ve seen so many wonderful moments, learnt a lot about the art, and grown to understand more about myself as well. I’ve snagged some wonderful accolades and gained my associate honours in photography. I feel like I’m exactly where I should be and hope this privilege lasts until I can pick up a camera no more.
I understand you have many, many photographers out there to choose from and I can fully relate to the fact that it’s not an easy task. At the end of the day it comes down to asking yourself one question: “Can I imagine myself in Tom Hall’s photos?”. If the answer is “Yes!” I hope you’ll take the time to contact me and hopefully I’ll be available to photograph your very special day.
I absolutely love weddings and this is why it’s always a privilege for me to be invited to capture such a pivotal day in anyone’s life – wherever it is.

FAQ: Q. Can I book you for less than 12 hours? A. I photograph 12 hours because a wedding day is exactly that; a day. There's just too much magic that happens to feel comfortable only photographing a part of. If ever there was a whole day in your life to be photographed, it's most definitely a wedding. Q. Do you do videography? A. I only specialise in photography. Videography is a completely different craft requiring a completely different mindset. I would always recommend booking a photographer and videographer separately to ensure each element has the full attention of it's artist apposed to someone doing a bit of both. Q. How far in advance should I book? A. As soon as you can. I operate on a first-in first-served basis. Once someone books me that date is no longer available to anyone else. To ensure no one else beats you to the date, it's recommended you book as soon as you can. Q. Do I need to book my venue first? A. Yes. This is very important. The venue must be booked first before the processing of a booking with me can commence. Q. Will we meet before the wedding? A. Absolutely! We must meet prior to the wedding day. It's so important to get to know each other so that on the wedding day you are so much more comfortable with being photographed. This will result in much more natural looking wedding photography. Q. Do you have an assistant? A. I've never needed one. Even though I photograph the wedding day by myself I've always been able to photograph both bride and groom preps as well as all the other events of the day. Shooting my myself also ensures that the intimate moments you share with each other don't feel like a spectacle. For me it's important that even though the photography is an important part of the day, there's still as little intrusion on my part as possible. Q. What if you haven't photographed my venue before? A. Awesome! I love new spaces and I love new angles. I love exploring and discovery. This is another thing that excites me about photography. I won so many awards from images captured in locations I've never been to before. Q. Are you insured for public liability? A. Yes Q. Are you accredited? A. Yes. I am a fully accredited photographer with honours.
