I love the opportunity to drive south for an hour to become a Gold Coast wedding photographer for a day.

When I arrived at Currumbin, Emily greeted me with a massive smile and a hug. She was happy and excited, but at the same time completely calm. It was almost like she’d already seen her wedding day unfold and knew it was going to be perfect. Not once did I catch her looking nervous or apprehensive. Prep was effortless with everyone enjoying the kind of ease not commonly experienced on the morning of a wedding. I kept having to remind myself I was working as a wedding photographer and not just hanging out with a great group of girls.

I didn’t actually meet the groom Joel before the wedding, but as the morning unfolded I began to realise that everyone was in great spirits because Emily and Joel were so perfect for each other! If Joel wasn’t a great guy and perfect for Emily I can’t imagine Emily’s wedding preparations would’ve been so enjoyable.

When I arrived at the ceremony on Currumbin Beach and met Joel my assumptions were confirmed. It’s always a real bonus when the groom clearly wants to be there and is completely in the moment.

When I saw Emily and Joel finally see each other on their wedding day it all clicked, and it was so obvious why everyone who was there to celebrate their love did so with complete support and enthusiasm! Seriously, the guests were great! Every person at that wedding knew why they were there. Even though I didn’t know Joel and Emily very well, seeing how their family and friends completely got behind them on the day reflected how perfect it all was.

I can’t be any more grateful for sharing in Emily and Joel’s seriously special day. As I look through their images that I’m currently editing I have to say it’s one of my favourite collections yet. This blog will no doubt increase in size as the weeks pass and I’ve had more time to build a better understanding of the images and how best to treat them. As I do I’ll keep uploading more and more.

Stay tuned!

One last thing; I have to mention the great food and service at the Elephant Rock Cafe on Currumbin Beach. What a great venue!
