Brianna & Jordan’s Maleny Retreat Wedding

I’m so grateful to be a Maleny Wedding Photographer. Some weddings just feel special from the very start, and Brianna and Jordan’s day at Maleny Retreat was one of them. Everything flowed naturally. By the time Brianna walked down the aisle, everyone could feel they were witnessing something truly meaningful. Their vows were honest, funny, and filled with gratitude and love. The way they looked at each other said everything. I’ll admit, I had a lump in my throat as well.

Brianna and Jordan are one of those couples who just fit. They bring out the best in each other, and you can see it in every single moment they share. It was clear they both knew how lucky they were. That kind of energy is powerful to photograph, and I knew the images we created together would hold deep meaning for years to come.

People often ask me how to get the best wedding photos, and my answer is always simple: just enjoy being together. The most beautiful photos come from couples who are truly happy in the moment. Sure, creative and dramatic images have their place, but the photos that last, the ones that really matter, are the ones that show connection. When I can capture that, I know I’ve done my job well.

The Magic of Maleny Retreat

Maleny Retreat was the perfect backdrop for this celebration. I hadn’t photographed there in quite a while, and stepping back onto the property felt like catching up with an old friend. The views stretch endlessly, and even though the skies gave us a little drama, the rain never truly won.

It was great catching up with Joy Nicholson, who runs Maleny Retreat with so much passion and care. She’s created a venue that continues to bring happiness to so many couples, and it was a reminder of how much her vision has shaped the Maleny wedding scene. The property itself is breathtaking. It’s a massive piece of paradise, and I always love spending time there.

One of the things that makes this venue so special is the way it invites people to stay. Guests don’t rush off when the music stops. They settle in for the night, whether in the rooms or the permanent tents, and that changes everything. The laughter carries longer. The conversations stretch out. It feels more like a celebration than an event.

Talented Vendors Who Made the Day

I was lucky to work alongside some incredibly talented people. Valentina from Sunshine Brides set the tone early with her warmth and positivity. She created flawless hair and makeup while keeping everyone relaxed and happy, which made such a difference to the atmosphere.

Then there was Ellie Sparks from Sunshine Weddings, who planned and styled every detail with care and calm. Everything flowed effortlessly, and you could feel how much love went into her work.

Bloom and Bush delivered stunning florals that added another layer of beauty. Their arrangements were full of colour and texture, perfectly complementing the landscape and the mood of the day.

Journey Food Co took care of the guests with food that was both delicious and beautifully presented. Sharing incredible food is such a big part of celebrating, and they made sure everyone felt looked after.

And of course, the night wouldn’t have been the same without G&M DJs. They brought the energy, read the crowd perfectly, and kept the dance floor alive all night. The right music always changes the atmosphere, and they nailed it.

A Day I’ll Never Forget

By the time I packed my gear, I wasn’t just leaving with photos. I was leaving with gratitude. Gratitude for Brianna and Jordan, for their families and friends, and for every talented person who helped make their day unforgettable. It was one of those weddings that remind me exactly why I love what I do.

It was pure joy from start to finish, and I’ll never forget it.
