Currumbin Valley Wedding

When Shannon and Jack first contacted me and told me they were planning a Currumbin Valley wedding, I got excited! Shannon and Jack’s wedding was at Hillview Homestead. The property is enviably stunning and surrounded by some of the Gold Coast’s most beautiful hinterland. It’s the kind of place you add to a vision board in the hope of one day living somewhere like it.

Hillview Homestead is a private property which makes the day feel that little bit more exclusive. I’m not sure how many people have married at Hillview Homestead, but I’d imagine only a handful of couples can say they’ve had the honour.

The couple’s wedding was originally planned for May with the ceremony at Hillview Homestead and the reception at Burleigh Heads. Covid-19 made that impossible though. Shannon and Jack had no choice but to replan for a November event. They also decided to have both the ceremony and reception on the property which I thought was a great decision. Shannon and Jack are the kind of determined people who look for the positives in everything. I never once doubted their wedding would happen. They were always going to do whatever necessary to ensure their day was perfect… and they succeeded!

On the day it felt like it was always meant to happen that way. Shannon and Jack’s wedding was wonderful! Judging by the huge smiles on the guests faces, I’d say the couple’s infectious positivity helped everyone forget the wedding wasn’t exactly what they’d originally planned.

I needed to photograph this wedding. Something about it changed my outlook for the future. Seeing a group of people enjoying the day like there wasn’t a care in the world gave me hope. I’ll always be grateful for being a part of it!

Thank you, Shannon and Jack for inviting me to photograph your very special wedding!
