Maddy and Zac’s Kooroomba Wedding
It was the second time I had the privilege of photographing a Kooroomba Wedding. I was really looking forward to this one. Great venue and yet another amazing couple!
A Love That Speaks Without Words
Maddy’s a firecracker, full of spark, mischief and wild laughter. Zac’s the calm in the room. Steady, grounded, taking it all in with this quiet and content certainty. On paper they’re opposites. In reality? Yin and Yang. They just work. Like two puzzle pieces that were always meant to find each other.
Maddy’s smitten and so is Zac. You can see it in their eyes. A little awestruck, but completely at ease. They’re quietly chuffed. No need to say much. They know exactly what they’ve got. There’s a beautiful balance between them that says without words, this is it!
That energy ran through the whole day. Every look, tear, smile or burst of laughter. It was impossible to miss. They’re not just in love. They’re completely in sync. Sometimes it felt like nothing else around them existed. I didn’t need to prompt them to enjoy each other’s company. They just did.
Kooroomba Brilliance
Let’s talk about the team behind the magic. Kooroomba is the kind of place that makes you stop mid-sentence just to take it all in. Rolling lavender. Open skies. Mountains melting into dusk. It’s hands down the most visually spectacular venue in South East Queensland, but that view isn’t the only drawcard. Tammy and Guy made everyone feel like they belonged. Like they were part of something bigger. That kind of welcome is rare.
I’m quietly hoping they liked me enough to tell their couples about my work. I’d love to go back 🙂
That Meal Though
Let’s be honest. Food matters. I’ve eaten at hundreds of weddings, and venues throughout South East Queensland certainly know how to make a meal. However, this one stood out. Mid-bite I walked straight into the kitchen, found the chefs and told them they were legends. I let them know it was the best wedding food I’ve ever had. I couldn’t help myself. In the hands of a master, food becomes more than a meal. It becomes a memory. That dish made the whole day feel even more special. I’ll never forget that lamb!
A Dream Team of Vendors
The crew are next level.
Scenic Rim Florist. The florals didn’t just look incredible. They felt alive. Not just fresh. Alive. There’s a kind of love in their arrangements that feels personal. Like someone arranged them with a full heart. Guy made the most amazing buttonholes I’ve ever seen!
Annie. Celebrant. DJ. Hype queen. That dance floor lit up. She didn’t get lucky. She knows how to read a crowd. Her ceremony felt warm and effortless. And later on she had everyone moving.
Paul from MyFilm. If you’re still deciding on a videographer, do yourself a favour and check out his work. Paul doesn’t just document. He captures soul. Mood. His films are cinematic.
Katriona Allen from KT Beauty absolutely nailed it. She’s the kind of artist who just gets it. Everyone looked incredible but more importantly, they felt like themselves. Calm morning, good energy, no fuss. Total pro.
Herrmann House in Kalbar was the perfect spot for getting ready. Beautiful light, plenty of space, and just a calm, elegant vibe all round. They’ve thought of everything.
Oh, and the Bentley? Yeah. They’ve got this stunning classic that they’re more than happy to drive the bride to the ceremony in. Such a classy touch!
And Lauren Bradnam on the violin? Unreal. She set the tone from the very first note. Ceremony through to canapés, every piece she played just fit. Nothing over the top, just pure class.
Wrapped in Love
I left that wedding feeling full. Not just from the food, but from the people. The kind of fullness that only real love and real joy can give. Maddy and Zac, thank you for trusting me with your story. I’m genuinely grateful.
